Want to Join?
The Choir are currently singing in Pembroke Dock Cricket Club off Imble Lane in Pembroke Dock. Applicants of 18 years of age and over, who think they would like to join the Choir are very welcome to come along to practice on Tuesday at 7.00pm.
You are assured of a very warm welcome and if they wish you can sit and listen to the choir practice and take in the atmosphere.
Following a provisional decision to join the choir the Conductor Juliet, the Conductor, would conduct a basic voice test, simply to ascertain which of the four sections would vocally, most suit the applicant and give balance to the choir.
Plenty of time will be afforded the new chorister to learn the majority of the choir’s programme before he is asked to stage publicly in concerts.
A rules book will be given to you so that you will know what is expected of you as a chorister and uniform will be provided in due course at the discretion of the Secretary and Conductor.
Subscriptions are minimal.
The chorister will have one vote at the AGM or on other occasions where decisions by the choir are sought by the Officers.
Joining P&DMVC or any other choir infers a strong commitment by the candidate to attendance at practice and concerts. Attendance records are kept for this purpose.
The choir does not charge for it’s services to the community and expects a similar level of commitment from its members. That is, choristers are expected to cover their own expenses to and from practice and concerts except for major occasions like travelling to major venues.
So then, if you have a desire to sing, a desire to sing as part of a team, a desire to be part of a team that does good works in and for the community and for Charity, a desire to join a friendly group of people of like mind, then you will not do better than to join Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir.
Come along and be a part of something good and help to raise money for good causes.
But most important of all, discover the personal joy and pleasure in music for its own sake and the provision of music to others. P&DMVC has a high reputation in this field. Wouldn’t you like to be a chorister in a choir like that?
Contact our Secretary or any choir member for further details.
